Shähh Däyc Ckez (/vu/ /dəjc/ [down] [dwarf]) is a subtropical Town located in the Gumada Provence of the Kingdom of Hobben.

The name Shähh Däyc Ckez is derived from the Dwarven language, as Shähh Däyc Ckez was founded by Ghebi Härtedrayd, who was culturaly Dwarvern.

Climate

Shähh Däyc Ckez has a yearly average temperature of 26°C (78°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 31°C (87°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 22°C (71°F). Overview

Shähh Däyc Ckez was founded durring the early 15th century in spring of the year 1429, by Ghebi Härtedrayd. The establishment of Shähh Däyc Ckez was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Ghebi Härtedrayd electing to pay people to resettle in Shähh Däyc Ckez.

Shähh Däyc Ckez was built using the conventions of Dwarvern durring the early 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Shähh Däyc Ckez is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Shähh Däyc Ckez is is constructed arround a series of broad paverstone mainstreets which form overlapping circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The town resides behind a palisade wall complete with battlments, a moat, and timber gatehouses with drawbridges. Shähh Däyc Ckez's robustly designed timber walls are suffering from significent damage, so much so that examples can be pointed to no matter which section one might have within their line of site, and most of which render sections inoperable at present.

Right off the bat Shähh Däyc Ckez hits you in the face with its success. Everyone, even the peasants, are dressed in well made clothing. Every tool and implement you can see is finely made, and people will boast to you as obvious strangers of the wonders which can be found in their markets. More interestingly is a total lack of beggars, and plenty of new buildings are going up even as you speak. Somehow this town has come into quite a lot of wealth, and recently from the looks of things. Precisely how it has gained its wealth is a mystery. Shähh Däyc Ckez is, in a word, disorder. People seem to be allowed to do as they please with little harmoney to anything. It feels less like a town, and more like a spot people just happened to place their homes. Yet there are small elements here and there which show the underlying structure of the community. It’s just so complex, organic, and flowing one can only understand what is a piece of the puzzle, but not what its neighbors are.

Cultural Notes

Shähh Däyc Ckez is led by one or more incompetents. While they must have been very good at something to have acquired the position, they are fundamentally incapable of leading. Uncontrolled passions or lusts, commitment to a hopelessly impractical ideal, pigheaded obstinacy in the face of failure, a total lack of charisma or interpersonal skills, or profound laziness might all unfit them for their post.

Shähh Däyc Ckez's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used embraces individualism and experimentation. It emerged as a movement against traditional, classical styles and sought to make buildings dynamic and fun while breaking the rules. In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century Grieving Peak, an iconic vista located neare Shähh Däyc Ckez, proved to be volcanic when the peak erupted. The eruption was isolated to the area around Shähh Däyc Ckez, which was swallowed in ash, lava flows, and pyroclastic gasses. Shähh Däyc Ckez lost 258 people, 235 livestock, and 78 buildings in the disaster. The event is forever remembered as the Day of Grieving's Wrath.
